Our Amenity Services play squad look after 121 outdoor play areas across the county. The spaces are designed to be diverse and engaging for children and young people aged 0-17.
Our play areas have a unique mix of play equipment to meet a wide range of ages and abilities. A strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusion means there’s something for everyone.

Children’s right to play is enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Research has demonstrated both the individual and societal benefits of play for children and young people. It’s now known that play leads to a wide range of beneficial outcomes across the cognitive, physical, emotional and social developmental areas. It has also been shown that play has positive societal outcomes through building healthier and more tolerant societies.
