East Lothian Council hosted Fuuse's trial of bay occupancy sensors to monitor a cross-section of our chargers. This was to:
- better understand the frequency that on-street chargers were blocked by non-plugged-in vehicles, or when either type were blocked by plugged-in vehicles that have stopped actively charging.
- reduce driver uncertainty and doubt about the availability of chargers, particularly for those who don’t have a safe place to park and charge at home.
We concluded that bay occupancy sensors can give drivers confidence to divert to unfamiliar 50kW+ Journey chargers if their preferred site is fully occupied and they do not wish to wait for a connector to become available.
