With the number of rivers, railway lines and roads that crisscross East Lothian there is ideal opportunity for the spread of invasive weeds such as Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed

The council currently has a very limited supply of allotment plots in Dunbar, North Berwick and Tranent and these are managed by a combination of associations and direct council control
