You must be the lair holder and instruct a monumental mason to complete an application form to East Lothian Council along with proof of ownership by way of lair certificate.
East Lothian Council is registered with the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM) scheme and is a member of the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM).
Memorial Masons wishing to carry out work in East Lothian Council burial grounds—including installation, maintenance, and cleaning—must:
Kerbstones, edging, fencing, or any similar arrangements intended to define a lair, or any part of a lair are not permitted within East Lothian cemeteries.
