Opening Times

From Monday 4 December, Haddington Library will temporarily close for lunch Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. These changes are due to staff absence and vacancies and in accordance with the current Council recruitment freeze and need for financial savings. We will revisit this decision on 31 March 2024.

Monday 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 7:00pm

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm

Wednesday 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm

Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm

Click and Collect Service

  • Adult Colouring Group - every Monday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
  • All Write Now creative writing workshop for adults - first Monday of the month from 6:00pm.
  • Bookbug sessions (for under 5's) - every Wednesday at 10:30am and every Saturday at 10:30am. Advance booking required for the Wednesday session.
  • Board Game Club - every Monday at 10:00am and every Wednesday at 3:00pm.
  • Chatterbooks Junior book group ( for 8 to12 year olds) - every first and third wednesday of the month from 3:45pm to 4:45pm.
  • Children's Creative Writing Club - every second Wednesday from 3:45pm to 4:45pm.
  • Code Club (for 8-12 year olds) - every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
  • Crafts club (for children) - third Friday of the month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm 
  • Drop-in IT help - every Thursday at 3:00pm.
  • Dungeons and Dragons club ( for 12 years and above) - once a month on Saturdays at 2:00pm starting from 18 November.  Spaces limited. Booking required.
  • Eco Club for all ages – first Friday of the month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
  • Evening book group -  last Monday of the month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
  • Grub Quiz - second Monday of the month at 6:00pm ( starting from 11 September).
  • Haddington Active Memories group (aimed at men over 60) - every second Tuesday morning from 10:30am to 12:00pm.
  • Haddington Shared Reading group - every Monday at 6:00pm to 7:00pm ( starting from 5 February 2024)
  • Learn to Draw  - the third Monday of the month from 10:30am to 11:45am ( booking essential as spaces are limited).
  • Lego Club - every Saturday, drop in between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
  • Lunchtime book group - last Thursday of the month from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
  • Teenage Writing Group - every Thursday from 3:30pm onwards.
  • Tyne and Esk Writers group - alternate Wednesdays at 7:00pm (meeting in the Haddington Bridge Centre).
  • Tyne and Esk Poetry group - first Monday of the month from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Star Room ( From June it will move to the second Monday of the month at 2:15pm).
  • Walk and Talk Book Group- first Wednesday of the month. Meet in the library between 10:00am/10:15am, return to library anytime between 11.00am to 11:30am.
