Working with people to help them reduce their offending is a key part of community supervision, whether it’s used instead of a prison sentence or as support after release on licence.
We use one‑to‑one and group work to help people understand and change their offending behaviour.
Each person has an Action Plan that identifies what they need to work on. Their social worker will support them throughout the process.

Women often have different needs from men. Our approach is trauma‑informed and can be gender‑specific.
The Connect Women’s Group, supported by social work, the third sector and the NHS, helps women by:
Specialist social workers support young people at risk of offending, either individually or with their families.
Work often takes place through the Children’s Hearing System rather than the courts. Some young people may be diverted from prosecution.
The Children’s Wellbeing and Justice Team supports young people up to age 18.
Men convicted of sexual offences may be required to attend specialist group work.
