Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP)
The Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) sets out East Lothian's strategic housing priorities for the next five years.
The SHIP contributes to achieving the outcomes set out in it's Local Housing Strategy and demonstrates how investment in affordable housing will be targeted to meet these objectives. As a working document, updated and submited to the Scottish Government once a year, it provides an opportunity for East Lothian Council to:
- Set out key investment priorities for affordable housing;
- Demonstrate how these will be delivered;
- Identify the resources required to deliver these priorities; and
- Enable the involvement of key partners in the delivery of new affordable housing
The SHIP focuses on the delivery of social rented housing. However, it also includes a range of other affordable housing tenures such as Mid-Market Rent and Low Cost Home Ownership.
