What to do if you or someone you know is at risk of harm

First of all, thank you for coming this far.

Children and adults can be at risk of harm for lots of reasons, inlcuding physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect, exploitation, co-ercion, financial control or mental cruelty. If you are worried about someone, please report it because we can help.

To protect a child

You can also talk to staff at school or to any health professional.

To protect an adult

  • Emergency Social Care Service on 0800 731 6969 (free phone) out of hours  (Mon-Thu 5pm-8:30am, weekends from Friday 3:55pm-8:30am)
  • the Police on 101.

Emergencies

In any emergency when someone is at immediate risk of harm, phone the Police on 999.
