Current and future developments
East Lothian Council has been raising paperless orders since 2002. We use the Scottish Government's recommended system, currently Pecos supplied by Elcom. If you are a supplier to East Lothian Council we may require you to provide us with an electronic catalogue so that requisitioning officers in the council can order efficiently.
We also encourage electronic invoices. These are invoices sent in a cXML format. The benefit for the supplier is that invoices do not have to be printed, they are accepted into the system the same day as they are transmitted, and providing that the invoice matches the order, the invoice will be paid much more quickly than if it was a paper invoice.
