ELJam's Battle of the Bands
Sunday 24 May 12-5pm at Haddington Bridge Centre
ELJam is delighted to be hosting its Battle of the Bands competition once again. Acts from all seven high schools will go head to head for some fantastic prizes and this year there will be a bonus award for best original song.
The competition is open to new and returning acts of high school age and of all standards from beginner to accomplished. There's a stage and a prize for eveyone!
Open mic event, 1-3pm.
We are delighted to be partnering with theSpace, Dunbar to offer an open mic event for young soloists or small acoustic acts. There's no need to book for this, just turn up and pop your name down. Mics and guitar amp or small PA will be provided.

The professionals
We have five fabulous judges and a wonderful compere who are generously donating their time to the event. They are all professionals working in the music industry and are extremely well placed to offer valuable feedback and advice.
Our judges
Bruce Craigie is co-owner of A Modern Way Management Company and Record Label who have Idlewild, Fatherson, Zoe Graham, Rudi Zygadlo, Tom Joshua on their rosta. He is also involved in Aimless Play, a Digital Marketing and Services company, and has extensive experience of working in record companies and music publishing companies. Bruce also lectures part time in Music Business at Edinburgh College.
Harley Loudon is a songwriter, musician, jazz singer, therapist and storyteller with various albums out on apple / Spotify as a solo artist and band member. She has worked in the music industry supporting emerging artists.
David Curry is an award winning musician and song writer hailing from Glasgow. He plays keys for the chart topping 90s band The Supernaturals.
Sarah McLachlan is the lead singer from Edinburgh based band Sarah/Shaun. Sarah/Shaun will be performing at Haddington Corn Exchange as part of the Haddstock festival on Sat 30 May.

We are delighted to have local actor, writer and musician John Arnold leading us through the festivities on the day.
Workshops and entertainment for festival-goers:
For fans and families enjoying the Open Mic session, there will be pizza on sale from Mazzoli at the Tyneside Tavern in the The Haddington Bridge Centre courtyard. For those with a sweeter tooth there will be a bake sale and coffee and tea to go with it.
This year, the arts service will be offering workshops but the following week as part of the main Haddstock festival on Sunday 31 May.
