Find out how council tenants can participate and get involved in our services.
Registering as a tenant organisation gives groups the right to be properly recognised by their landlord. Tenants and residents groups can apply to become a registered tenant organisation (RTO), registration ensures that the Council asks for, and pays attention to, their views.
The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 states that landlords must produce a registration policy and keep a Register of Tenants' Organisations as part of the landlord's Tenant Participation Strategy.
We have a joint registration policy with East Lothian Housing Association (ELHA) and Homes for Life Housing Partnership and you can download a copy of our current register.
Please get in touch with us if you would like to find out how to register your Group, or if you have any questions about registration. You can telephone 01620 827526 or email tenantconsultation@eastlothian.gov.uk.
