Rent Consultation 2026-27

Thank you to all our tenants who responded to our rent consultation in November 2025 which showed that 66 per cent of those who took part agreed with plans to raise rents by seven per cent. At a meeting of East Lothian Council in February 2026, councillors approved a seven per cent increase for council tenants for 2026/27 in line with feedback from tenants.

Tenants will receive a letter detailing what their new rent payment will be from 6 April 2026.
