Coastal Communities Museum

Inside North Berwick library

Where curiosity is welcome!

Travel through time and discover more about the history and pre-history of this captivating coastline and associated hinterland. At the museum you can view an eclectic range of objects between 3,000 years and a few decades old.

Adults and children alike can seek and find answers to burning questions, try some hands-on activities and boost their local knowledge. At different points throughout a year the display changes, so frequent referral to our website or regular re-visits are a must.

The museum is operated by volunteers from the Coastal Communities Museum Trust with support from East Lothian Council. Located in a 19th century school building, above North Berwick Library, the museum is only 5 minutes along the front from the Seabird Centre. A lift and stairs lead to the first floor where the exhibition space can be found.

Groups including school parties are welcome at The Coastal Communities Museum. Please get in touch before your visit so we can discuss your requirements and make sure your visit is a success.

The Museum is free to enter although there may be a small charge for some events and activities.
