Staying well

Staying well is not just about seeing a health professional when you are ill.

It is about:

  • Taking care of yourself
  • Eating well
  • Sleeping well
  • Staying connected
  • Keeping active
  • Reducing risks (smoking and drinking alcohol)

These things can help you stay healthier for longer and enjoy everyday life.

Looking after your mind and brain

Your brain is like a muscle – it stays stronger when you use it.

You can help your brain by:

  • Talking with friends or family
  • Going for a walk outside
  • Playing games or doing puzzles
  • Learning something new
  • Dancing and moving more

Keeping your brain active supports your mental wellbeing, improving our outlook and way you choose to live your life.
