Occupational Therapy Services

The Community Occupational and Physiotherapy Teams can provide equipment and adaptations to support you with everyday tasks at home. This can include daily activities such as preparing meals and hot drinks, going to the toilet, washing or dressing yourself, and generally moving around safely within your own home and community.

The focus of rehabilitation is to maximise your ability to manage the activities that are important to you. We will:

  • work with you to use rehabilitation techniques and practice how to carry out tasks in a different way.
  • identify more suitable layouts to your home to simplify tasks.

If required, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists may provide equipment and adaptations to support you with everyday tasks at home. This can include daily activities such as preparing meals and hot drinks, going to the toilet, washing or dressing yourself, and generally moving around safely within your own home and community.

The provision of equipment may be used as part of your rehabilitation and may not be required long term.

If you are in hospital or have a planned hospital admission, hospital-based occupational therapy and physiotherapy assessment may take place, focusing on your essential needs to focus on getting you home.  Once you are home, our community services may continue assessment and rehabilitation.
