Musselburgh Area Plan

The Musselburgh area is a great place to live and the Musselburgh Area Partnership Plan is about making life even better for everyone who lives, gets around, works and visits the area. It is a chance to do things differently in a way that listens to the Communities views aspirations and priorities.

The Area Partnership brings people from across the community together to get our voices heard and influence service planning and delivery about the things that matter to us. We will continue to listen and work with communities across the Partnership Area to develop this plan using evidence from the area profile and local intelligence with a focus on reducing inequalities, prioritising prevention, early intervention and sustainability.

Our Local Plan links to the East Lothian Plans three strategic themes and seven priority outcomes that together contribute to an East Lothian where ‘we will work in partnership to achieve an even more prosperous, safe and sustainable East Lothian, with a dynamic and thriving economy that enables our people and communities to flourish’.

The Priorities of the Musselburgh Area Partnership are based around the 3 Themes within the East Lothian Plan of Prosperous, Community Minded and Fair.

Our Vision

Our vision is to work with our community to make life better for everyone who lives, gets around, works, and visits the Musselburgh Area.

Our Focus

The focus of the plan is to reduce inequalities in our community which range widely from poverty, health, transport and educational attainment. These key areas have also been identified by evidence from local information sourced from surveys and the local area profile. Through working in partnership with East Lothian Council and other stakeholders we have already delivered over 120 projects and initiatives aimed at making a difference in our Community.
