Important information about third party agencies
It has come to our attention that some third party agencies are approaching businesses in Scotland offering to work on their behalf in connection with overpayments of Business Rates.
In some cases, these agencies are asking ratepayers to sign a contract and are taking commission from any refund of Business Rates due.
East Lothian Council has not employed or engaged with any of these agencies.
We actively identify if ratepayers have overpaid their Business Rates and contact customers directly about any refund due.
