Self Directed Support (SDS)

Giving you choice and control over how care and support is arranged.

The Four Self-Directed Support Options

Self-Directed Support is offered through four options

Option 1 — Direct Payment

Families receive a payment to arrange their own support.
The child or young person chooses what support they need to meet their outcomes following discussion with a social worker.

Option 2 — Individual Service Fund (ISF)

The child or young person chooses what support they need to meet their outcomes, but Children’s Services manage the budget on behalf of the child.

Option 3 — Arranged Services

Children’s Services arranges services for the child or young person, based on your child’s needs.

Option 4 — A Mix of Options

You can combine any of the above options to create a personalised package.
