Consultation on East Lothian Development Plan Scheme 2025

The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 (as amended) requires a Development Plan Scheme to be prepared at least annually, to set out the timetable for the next Local Development Plan. Consultation on the Development Plan Scheme 17 (2025) will take place from Monday 8 December 2025 until Monday 2 February 2026. Please visit the Consultation Hub to take part.

Chief Planning Officer

The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (as amended) requires that each planning authority must appoint a Chief Planning Officer. Our Chief Planning Officer is Graeme Marsden (MRTPI).

RAAC

In 2023 the council asked engineering specialists to undertake inspections, focused on establishing the extent and condition of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) within buildings.
