School information

North Berwick High School

North Berwick High School has been subject to a number of expansion projects since the school moved to its current site on Law Road in the 1940s. A two-storey teaching extension was added in 1960, and further works have taken place since then with the most recent completing in 2023. The school benefits from excellent sports facilities both within the campus and the adjacent Sports Centre and work is currently underway to extend the school's boundary and deliver new sports pitches on the enlarged site to meet statutory requirements and the needs of the school.

Aberlady Primary School

Aberlady Primary is a traditional stone building that opened on its present site in 1931. The main building contains six classrooms, a combined dining and sports hall, small library and office space. The grounds contain a mobile unit which serves as a resource base and general purpose space for the school. Aberlady Primary also benefits from a nursery.

Athelstaneford Primary School

Athelstaneford Primary School is located in a traditional Victorian school building constructed around 1780 and remodelled the mid-19th century with additions in 1910/11. Alongside the nursery the school holds three classrooms, a staff room, resource room, two offices and a small general purpose room that is used for lunches. Outside there is a small playground with trim trail, nursery garden and two storage outbuildings. The village hall located opposite the primary school is used for PE provision.

Dirleton Primary School

Dirleton Primary School opened on the present site in 1912. It is a traditional stone built building which was refurbished and extended in 2013 and comprises four classrooms, a general purpose room, gym hall, school library and a lunch hall.

Gullane Primary School

The village of Gullane is a growing community and the increasing school roll reflects this. The Primary School builiding dates from 1960s and has been extended since to provide additional capacity. The most recently-completed works provided an additional four classrooms to the school’s existing facilities, a new purpose-built sports hall, a brand new nursery, and the reconfiguration of internal spaces, including new office space and the replacement of open-planned classrooms.

Law Primary School

Law Primary School opened on its current site in 1974. The building has been remodelled since with staff and learners moving into a large new extension in October 2017. The school contains a large sports hall, music and dance studio, two libraries, dining hall and kitchen, 31 classrooms, a support for learning room, Harbour Room, sensory room, offices, music room and staff room.The school has large playgrounds with a number of different areas to explore and sports field. A new purpose-built nursery is due to open adjacent to the primary school in the near future.

It includes staff costs, school resources, building costs including gas, electricity, water and rates and other costs including cleaning, catering, refuse collection and transport.
