The European programmes for Lowlands and Uplands Scotland for the period 2014-2020 is underway. It aims to address social inequalities within and across regions by improving the general performance of the labour market, in particular relation to marginalised groups.
A new programme has been approved and we will use it to help deliver some East Lothian Works services. This is a council service within Economic Development and Strategic Investment, that focuses on providing and supporting a range of employability services and business support activities across East Lothian.
To support local employers the council are administering an Employer Recruitment Incentive.
To support third sector employability providers the council is administering a Challenge Fund.
